We want our community to live up to the hope in his eyes. Let's face it, it makes no sense to allow these creatures to be born and then kill them for doing so.
Let's change this sad fact.

How?

Action, Education, Prevention

From Tricia Todd-Metroplex Mutts

Over the past couple of years the weak economy has made it very tough on rescue groups. We have had to make tough decisions on which dogs to pull from the shelters based on whether or not we could come up with the funds to give them proper medical care. Due to the Dallas Animal Advocates heart worm fund, we have been able to pull and treat 12 hear worm positive dogs from the Dallas Animal Shelter. In fact, we were so encouraged that we even pulled 8 more heart worm positive dogs. This is a fabulous, life-saving program that hope will be able to continue and grow as such a large percentage of surrendered and stray animals are heart worm positive. These little guys don't deserve to die just because their owners couldn't afford to or chose not to give them heart worm preventative. DAA has also done a great job of administering these funds. Thank you!
